Empowering Leadership in Latina Athletes (ELLA) is a non-profit corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes. The mission of the ELLA organization is to support young female Latinas to become leaders of tomorrow through sports and academic excellence. The ELLA foundation works on developing leadership in Latina athletes through education, training, mentorship, and advocacy in the sports community. ELLA’s vision is to develop strong Latina Leaders that will positively impact their communities while establishing their own legacy. The ELLA foundation offers membership to anyone who is interested in supporting the development of female athletes across all sports. ELLA’s mission is to support young female Latinas to become leaders of tomorrow through sports and academic excellence. The ELLA foundation works on developing leadership in Latina athletes through education, training, mentorship, and advocacy in the sports community. The ultimate vision of ELLA is to develop strong Latina Leaders that will positively impact their communities while establishing their own legacy. Programs offered by the ELLA organization are established in the following major areas: Education, Training, and Community. Education allows members to participate in many high-quality leadership development conferences; college preparatory courses; apply for educational scholarships; participate in college clinic seminars and conferences for players and parents on the latest information regarding college admission requirements; and have access to workshops and mentorship sessions from past college athlete graduates. The training component allows members the opportunity to participate in skills development programs to prepare them for a higher level of play in both training and development and participate in training camps held by professionals in their sports field. In the community, ELLA advocates for women in sports, lobby for equal funding for women in sports, and change.
