Excited to share an update on EmpowerEd Pgh! What started as a plan to hold four sessions this year has grown into something much larger. We’re now gearing up to continue programming next semester, adding new opportunities for our volunteers to make a lasting impact. In addition to leading sessions, our incredible team of volunteers will soon help seniors with their college application essays AND serve as advisors for senior projects, guiding students through research papers and action projects. The energy at today's first session from both students and volunteers was amazing, and we’re looking forward to what’s next! A?huge shout-out?to Urban Pathways Charter School for hosting us and to all the volunteers who came out to support: Teagan Ochaya, Robert Portillo, Elijah Tait, Joseph Segar, Jeffrey Chmay & Jordan Jiles! Your dedication is what makes this program thrive. EmpowerEd is also looking for more ways to be creative with support, and contributions don’t just have to be monetary. We welcome everything from school supplies and gift cards to?lightly used?clothing—there are so many ways to make a difference. If you're interested in finding out how you can get involved, email me at?[email protected]. Your support—whether through time or resources—helps us continue making a difference in these students’ lives. Thank you to everyone who's been a part of this journey! #EmpowerEd #Education #Community #Volunteer #Pittsburgh

关于我们
EmpowerEd is a Pittsburgh-based non-profit organization dedicated to creating equitable educational opportunities for underserved students. Founded by Denzel Gregg, a current law student at the Thomas R. Kline School of Law at Duquesne University, EmpowerEd seeks to empower students by offering programs that go beyond traditional academics, providing them with the leadership, mentorship, and life skills they need to succeed in higher education and their future careers. Our flagship program, "Beyond the Books," equips students with the tools to thrive both in and out of the classroom, starting with 9th-grade students at Urban Pathways Charter School. At EmpowerEd, we are committed to removing barriers to education and fostering an environment of support that enables students to achieve their full potential. By partnering with local schools, community organizations, and professionals, we aim to create a lasting impact on the lives of students, ensuring they are prepared to navigate their academic and personal journeys with confidence.
