Last month, EmpowerCare, represented by?Abhidi Brahnmath, had the privilege of sharing our message about the scientific basis behind many adverse experiences in healthcare, the prevalence of socioeconomic healthcare inequities, and potential solutions on a?TEDx?platform. Centered around their theme of "A Reality of Infinite Possibilities," we aimed to highlight the potential for a world with more accessible healthcare and a more unified society amidst these long-standing barriers.

Earlier in October, EmpowerCare, represented by Abhidi Brahnmath, had the opportunity to attend and present on childhood adversity at Society for Neuroscience's "Neuroscience 2024", the largest scientific conference in the world. The intersection of the variety of fields within neuroscience, with everyone from researchers and doctors to non-profit leaders and biotech companies attending, led to an electrifying conference with palpable energy. Discussing the importance of inclusivity within research and clinical trials was a focus in conversations, and connecting with leaders of global initiatives who believe in more accessible healthcare such as Juman Kubba, who is making brain health a higher priority in war-torn schools?in Iraq, has allowed us to widen the reach of patients we are able to benefit. EmpowerCare recognizes the opportunity to improve healthcare through research, and will continue to bring awareness and conversation around health equity.

As we reflect on our journey, we’re reminded of our commitment to aid children facing adversity, especially with their health. Our mission is personal, and together, we’re making a difference. ? One initiative we conducted when we were formerly known as "Power of People" that was close to our hearts was Calligraphy Against Cancer. With this project, we conducted a calligraphy workshop to raise awareness and over $2,300 in funds for pediatric brain cancer research in Seattle Children's. Each piece we created symbolized hope and support for these brave children. We emphasized the importance of investing in a vision where all underserved patients have a chance at recovery, regardless of their background. Creativity is a method which we hope to utilize not only as a therapeutic approach, but to better connect us amidst systemic barriers such as financial status or race. ? We draw inspiration from organizations like Seattle Children’s, where hope, care, and cure come together. By uniting our creative efforts, we can contribute to groundbreaking research and help ensure every child has the chance to live a fulfilling life. Visit our fundraising page here to understand more about our impact: https://lnkd.in/g7vKQiTK ? Let’s continue this vital work together—every effort counts! #EmpowerCare #HopeCareCure #Throwback
