From Need to Want: A New Era in Mental Health? The overwhelming turnout at this past Sunday’s Collaboration Summit was nothing short of extraordinary. With over 350 participants, the room reached standing-room only, sparking invaluable conversations about where the frum community stands in terms of mental health care and resources. What was once considered a desperate need has now evolved into a powerful passion for growth and understanding. What truly stood out was the diverse range of attendees—beyond just mental health professionals, we were joined by an unexpected number of educators, mechanchim, menahalim, and menahalos. The collaboration that unfolded, particularly after the medical doctor panel, was remarkable. The dialogue between medical providers and mental health professionals was both enlightening and underscored the critical importance of integrating medicine and mental health care. The level of kovod and eagerness for knowledge from the practitioners toward the Rabbonim, as well as the hakoras hatov and support the Rabbonim showed the therapists, was truly inspiring. It’s clear that this event marked a turning point—one where mental health care is not only valued but celebrated as a vital part of our community’s well-being. The feedback has already been featured in a few news outlets: https://lnkd.in/eHyVu7Nu and https://lnkd.in/ef_ZYRTS At the event, we’ve launched our follow-up collaboration summit / two-day intensive training on September 14-15 (with an on-site hotel option for those traveling from out of state). There has already been an outpouring of interest and sign-ups from attendees who are eager to continue their professional development and be part of this transformative opportunity.
