This evening, Employ Prince George’s partnered with the Prince George's County Government, MD - Office of Human Resources Management to connect Prince George’s County residents with government job opportunities at the Bilingual Latino Pathways to Government Information Session. The session began with inspiring remarks from our Chief of Staff, Jeffrey Swilley, who emphasized the importance of creating equitable pathways to employment for all residents, and from Prince George’s County Latino Affairs Liaison, Samantha Howard who highlighted the county’s ongoing efforts to support and uplift the Hispanic/Latino community. Following the opening remarks, an informative overview of the Pathways to Government Initiative was provided by our Manager, Career Services, Mariam Adams and with interpretation provided by our Director, Talent Acquisition, Claudia Marin. They outlined the program’s mission to guide residents toward rewarding careers. We were honored to have distinguished guest speakers, Stephen Liggett-Creel, Director of the Prince George’s County Department of Social Services (DSS), and Krystal Barrientos, Senior HR Business Partner at the Department of Parks and Recreation within the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission. Their insightful presentations shed light on leadership in government, the importance of community-focused careers, and practical advice on navigating opportunities within government agencies. Their expertise and shared experiences provided attendees with a deeper understanding of the value of public service and actionable steps for career advancement. Thank you, EPG staff and to everyone who joined us for this impactful event! Together, we’re building pathways to government for bilingual Hispanic and Latino residents and working toward a more inclusive workforce across our government agencies. #WeAreEPG #PathwaysToGovernment #Bilingual #Latino #GovernmentCareers #SocialServices #CommunityEngagement #Impact #PrinceGeorgesProud #Careers #OfficeofHumanResourcesManagement
