Employ Prince George's administers a menu of workforce development services for job seekers and businesses. The mission of Employ Prince George's is to improve the local economy by creating a demand-driven workforce system with workforce development programs that deliver qualified workers to businesses, improves the productivity of businesses, and provides job seekers with opportunities for careers in high demand/high growth industries. Employ Prince George's serves as the Staff and Fiscal Agent of the Prince George's County Local Workforce Development Board. As the Staff and Fiscal Agent of the Local Workforce Development Board, Employ Prince George's is responsible for regulating policy development and the administration of workforce activities related to services and programs funded by the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA). Under the leadership of Employ Prince George's, the Prince George's County Local Workforce Development Area serves over 30,000 job seekers and 4,000 businesses annually. Employ Prince George's is Prince George's County's link between job seekers looking to begin or change careers, and businesses looking for skilled workers to maintain competitiveness in a changing labor market.

Last night, Employ Prince George’s had the honor of attending “Cultura: An Immersive Experience” as part of Prince George’s County’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration! The event was a true celebration of culture, featuring incredible performances by Grupo Folclorica Salvadre?o CIELO AZUL, Danza Folklore Alebrijes, Corazón Folklórico DC, Ballet Folklórico Boliviano Nuestra Raíces, Larimar Folklore Dominicano, El Grupo Folklorico Internacional, and Marimba CORAZóN DE MI TIERRA. Each performance brought the rich, vibrant traditions of Latin America to life, filling the room with music, color, and dance. Attendees also had the opportunity to admire stunning art exhibits that showcased the talent and heritage of the Hispanic community. Our County Executive Angela Alsobrooks delivered inspiring remarks, highlighting the contributions of the Hispanic community to our county’s culture and growth. Thank you to PGC Latino Affairs for organizing this incredible event and creating such an immersive cultural experience. The Returning Citizen Affairs Division (RCAD), through this RFP, seeks to identify, partner and contract with organizations operating within Prince George’s County that deliver supportive services to formerly incarcerated residents. Proposals should explicitly demonstrate how they can provide these services to returning citizens. While the following list outlines potential services, RCAD encourages respondents to collaborate with organizations to propose innovative and creative approaches to service delivery that address the unique challenges faced by formerly incarcerated individuals’ who are residents of Prince George’s County. RCAD aims to highlight and focus in the following areas within the RFP for funding intended to provide essential services to men and women returning to Prince George’s County after incarceration. The RCAD is tasked with developing a countywide reentry strategy that aligns government, community, and private sector service providers in sourcing and leveraging resources and partnering to improve the outcomes of returning citizens in Prince George’s County. The RCAD is Prince George’s County Government’s principal group communicating the County’s reentry vision, identifying, developing best practices, and leading the County in meeting its reentry goals. These goals include: ? Enhancing operational efficiency of systems that serve citizens returning to the County from periods of incarceration in local, state, and federal facilities. ? Strengthening relationships with nonprofit and faith-based organizations who provide services to returning citizens. ? Building partnerships with county, state, and federal agencies to ensure that returning citizens have access to public services. ? Enhancing community engagement with the returning citizens community. Today, we wrapped up an incredible Southern Management Companies Job Fair and Information Session held at Employ Prince George’s headquarters. The event brought in over 50 job seekers eager to explore apartment maintenance positions and roles for those skilled in HVAC, mechanical, trades, and curiosity for troubleshooting. The event kicked off with a detailed information session from the Southern Management team of 8 for individuals who wanted to learn more about their business and to discuss career growth opportunities. After, one-on-one pre-screens and interviews took place for hiring managers to seek out potential candidates. It was amazing to see the passion and drive of attendees as they connected with opportunities to grow their careers.
