Congratulations, graduates! Our summer Culinary Arts Training Program cohort graduated today at a ceremony attended by family and friends in our Culinary Arts classroom. Our graduates made many delicious dishes and learned so much over the past ten weeks--from safe food handling practices, to knife skills, to plating and customer service skills-- and we're so excited to see what the future holds for them!

We’re so grateful to Mandelbaum Barrett PC for presenting a staff education seminar today at Employment Horizons; Special Needs Practice Group co-chairs, Richard I. Miller and Arla D. Cahill (our Board President!) and Partner Jason Marx shared their knowledge and guidance on estate planning, special needs trusts and guardianships with our staff. We’re so glad to have Mandelbaum Barrett PC’s support of our mission and shared commitment to our program participants and their families.

Our Career Development Services team does a great job matching employers and job seekers; Michael's job Developer Lindsey helped Michael find a job he loves that enables him to expand his skill set! Michael is a prep cook/server at a local high school cafeteria--he makes pizzas, burgers, fries chicken and serves students, carefully planning his time to ensure all of the food is ready and prepared for lunchtime! Great job, Michael!

We were so glad to welcome Assemblywoman Aura Dunn back to Employment Horizons yesterday for her second visit! Assemblywoman Dunn met with several program participants and observed our new Culinary Arts Training Program. We're grateful that Assemblywoman Dunn understands the importance of employment choice options for people with disabilities across the state, and our program participants loved welcoming her back to EH!

Anthony is a Material Handler here at Employment Horizons; he always stays on top of his tasks and helps out the whole production room by replenishing supplies, emptying bins, and keeping the flow of work going between the production room and our warehouse--so of course he's one of July's Employees of the Month! Great job, Anthony!

Shannon is always willing to try new jobs, and likes to lend a helping hand whenever she can; she's being honored for this initiative and dedication as one of July's Employees of the Month! Congratulations, Shannon!
