In a new press release, EmpiRx Health expressed its strong support for the House Health Subcommittee, which is holding a major hearing on PBM reform today.? ? Our CEO, Danny S., states: “The major PBM reform measures that have attracted bipartisan support are, in our view, table stakes in this legislative process. These measures include eliminating spread pricing, requiring full rebate pass- throughs to plan sponsors, and implementing transparency requirements.” ? Danny continues: “For PBM reform to be truly effective, we also need to look at ending the anticompetitive practices within the PBM industry, including the vertical integration that has allowed PBMs to morph into healthcare industry conglomerates that exercise undue control over every aspect of pharmacy benefits care.” ? At EmpiRx Health, we will continue to advocate for PBM reform and look forward to working with Congress to ultimately enact legislation that will end the self-dealing, anticompetitive business practices of the traditional PBM companies. Clinically enables EmpiRx Health to drive even more pricing transparency and clarity, flexibility, and product innovation. In one instance, Clinically enabled our clinical pharmacist to discover a member’s fear of needles, which led to a recommendation to change the prescription from Forteo, an injectable, to a first line oral medication. This not only improved the likelihood of patient adherence, improving their overall health, but also resulted in a savings of $41,608 annually for the plan sponsor.
