We continue to closely monitor a changing pattern in Central Brazil from December 20-30. This should result in chances for more frequent rainfall including convective activity (showers and storms) as well as reduced temperature risks. It is unclear how long this pattern will last, but the change will be welcomed especially in areas that have seen growing precipitation deficits and very poor soil moisture conditions.

A huge surface high pressure will drop from the mountains of Asia into the lower elevations (+EAMT) resulting in a blast of colder weather in Eastern Asia over the next two weeks. This also will have impacts on the pattern in North America as it incites the development of a strong Pacific Jet. #asia #energy #weather

We're closely monitoring the progress of rains forecasted in #Brazil over the next few weeks. As we all know, dryness and warmth have been the highlight of the weather pattern and key areas of Mato Grosso's #soybean production regions are reporting concerningly dry soil and low rainfall numbers. A modeled pattern change in late-December could bring normal precipitation rates back to the area, potentially aiding in some improvements during this critical time in the crop year.
