Qeci’yew’yew (thank you) to the Empire Health Foundation for a wonderful community dinner yesterday. I did not capture even one photo, but truly enjoyed the opportunity to gather with community and relatives during this particular social and political climate that has caused much uncertainty, pain, worry, and despair for so many. The opportunity to gather together provides us with an additional reminder of the collective strength we find in honoring our interconnectedness. As I witnessed many local community leaders and champions discuss their current professional and personal challenges (and successes), the power of reciprocity became so deeply evident. Participating in the reciprocal exchange of wisdom sharing is rejuvenating, encouraging, and empowering, especially when many cultures, generations, peoples, and sectors join together. Sincerely grateful to you all for creating a space to just “be.”

We're so thankful for the work service providers do each and every day to uplift people and transform lives. This article captures some of the many stories of people who have moved through the scattered site shelter system and into stable housing and employment. https://lnkd.in/gwZeETGj

As a board member on the Empire Health Foundation, I was able to attend the annual Confluence Philanthropy event to continue to mature our value aligned investment strategy and learn from those who are further along the journey. Additionally, it was wonderful learning about San Francisco’s affordable housing preservation initiatives in the Mission District and catching up with some colleagues, such as Jennifer Acker Ayer who tirelessly work with foundations to assist them in navigating value aligned investments during these challenging times.
