Last Thursday, 2/6/25, we had the great pleasure of joining the GSRT at the GA Capitol to show solidarity and support initiatives that would enact minimum licensure requirements for radiation therapists, nuclear medicine technologists and anyone administering ionizing radiation. This means SAFER and higher quality imaging and treatment for everyone! Thank you to the GA house representatives and GA Senators who took the time to talk with us about optimal patient care for Georgians. Rep. Rick Jasperse (Pike County), Rep. Matthew Gambill (Bartow County), Rep. Sharon Cooper (Marietta), Rep. Jasmine Clark (Gwinnett County), Senator Nikki Merritt (District 9), Rep. Dexter Sharper (Valdosta), Rep. El-Mahdi Holly (Stockbridge), Rep. Imani Barnes (Tucker), Rep. Kimberly Alexander (Hiram), Rep. Segun Adeyina (Grayson) #beseen #rtadvocacy #gsrt #gacapitolday2025 #arrt #asrt #rtlicensureinall50 #registeredradiologictechnologist #radiationtherapist #nuclearmedicinetechnologist #radiologistassistant

The 2nd?annual MRI seminar was kicked off with Laura Benson, VP of Emory Enterprise Radiology, who provided the keynote address. She discussed the important role technologists have in the hospital. Two former graduates of the Emory Medical Imaging Program spoke on topics they are considered experts?in. Bahman Makhtari lectured on cardiac MRI and Zach Conrad lectured on functional MRI. Emory MRI physicists, Matt Goette and Puneet Sharma, lectured on MRI safety and acceleration methods. Dr. Raichandani provided her knowledge on how to properly scan pathologies of the male and female pelvis. Sean Strickler, Emory MIP faculty and seminar planner, spoke on parameters and trade-offs. Food & CEs were provided, and door prizes were won!?Overall, the seminar was a success, and the department is hoping to make it an annual thing.
