This past weekend was the National Collegiate EMS Foundation (NCEMSF) 2025 conference. This year, Emory EMS sent eight of our volunteers to attend the conference and we are bringing home three major awards: 1. EMS Ready Campus Silver Status: The EMS Ready Campus program is designed to recognize excellence in emergency management and disaster preparedness of collegiate EMS organizations. 2. HEARTsafe Campus: The intent of this program is to recognize quality campus-based EMS organizations and their communities and hold them out as examples to other campuses as a means to improve overall cardiac arrest care. 3. Collegiate EMS week celebration of the Year: One college is selected for their planning and execution of celebrating National collegiate EMS week at their school. Not only did we win these awards, but we also had two volunteers selected to give talks at the conference. Our Manager of Initial Education Joon Han Kim gave a presentation on conflict resolution in collegiate EMS, and Volunteer Yuna Lee gave a presentation on Neurodiversity in collegiate EMS. We are so proud of our volunteers and our success this year at the conference. Our volunteers attended a wide variety of sessions and are bringing back so much knowledge to our agency. We will see everyone at the conference next year in 2026!

Last week was National Collegiate EMS week 2024, and Emory EMS spent the week educating, celebrating, and bonding. On Monday, we celebrated National collegiate CPR day, and taught CPR to students and staff on Emory’s campus On Tuesday, we celebrated our incredible partnership with Emory Police and Dekalb county Fire Station 1. On Wednesday, we distributed 100 free first aid kits to the Emory community and held our annual “pie a provider” event On Thursday, we hosted a Campus Health and Safety Panel, where we share how to stay safe and healthy on campus in collaboration with Emory Police Finally, on Friday, we took the day to celebrate our wonderful volunteers and hosted EEMSgiving. Dinner, music, bonding, and time to celebrate NCEMS week. We would like to thank everyone who made these events a success, and wish everyone a happy NCEMS week 2024! #ncesmf
