Our solar roots run deep! Solar charging is a great way to power small electric outboards, but customers who aren't familiar with solar often have a hard time figuring out the best panel for their application. We've been hearing about solid state battery technology for years- now it's here and commercially available for electric marine propulsion! We've begun working with Solid State Marine to offer their batteries as third party solutions for ePropulsion motors. Not only are these batteries about half the weight of lithium iron phosphate batteries, but their nonflammable electrolyte makes them an even safer choice. We can't wait to see solid state battery technology applied to high horsepower electric outboards- it's going to be a game changer! We've also begun carrying products from Epoch Batteries. While not solid state, their lithium iron phosphate batteries are significantly less expensive than ePropulsion batteries, which reduces total system costs and opens the door to electric marine propulsion to a wider audience.
