"It's never too late to thank a Veteran." In the weeks surrounding Veterans Day, the Emmanuel Hospice team visits Veterans in the community to offer them an immersive experience through 3D virtual reality tours of the war memorials in Washington, D.C., created in their honor. These tours allow them to explore the WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, and Women's Memorials. Afterward, each Veteran is presented with a star from a retired flag and a heartfelt message that they are never forgotten. A small token of our immense gratitude, it’s truly an honor to be part of this meaningful gesture. #VeteransDay #Veterans #ThankAVeteran #ThankYou

As National Care at Home Month continues, this week focuses on Palliative and Advanced Care. Emmanuel Hospice strives to be a resource to our West Michigan community, so throughout the month of November, we will be sharing helpful information to empower and assist those who are facing serious illness or supporting someone who is. Talking about a serious illness is challenging, even with those we are closest to. This article from CaringInfo provides practical tips for how to go about difficult conversations with your Inner Circle. https://lnkd.in/gpmdDuPD National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization #NCAHM #CAHM #EmmanuelHospice #AdvancedCare #CaringInfo

Today kicks off a very important month for the work and mission of Emmanuel Hospice and organizations like it! November is National Care at Home Month, and to start off the month we are celebrating family caregivers! Family caregivers often juggle professional and personal demands, financial challenges, and even physical issues of their own while caring for a loved one. One in five Americans provide unpaid care for a family member, and if they were compensated at the same rate as professional caregivers, it would amount to more than $1 trillion dollars per year. If you need help caring for a loved one, call us any time to talk with our compassionate team and ask any questions you may have. 616.719.0919 https://lnkd.in/gBt3sv8X #NationalCareAtHomeMonth #NationalHospiceandPalliativeCareMonth #Hospice #Caregivers #Caregiving #FamilyCaregivers #EmmanuelHospice #MoreAboutLiving

This past Saturday, the Emmanuel Hospice team had the honor of granting Marjorie Price’s patient wish—a fishing trip that brought together her family, friends, and the outdoors she’s loved all her life. Once the plans were in place, Marjorie was beaming with anticipation. She even mentioned she couldn’t sleep the night before because she was so eager for the day ahead! With a smile on her face all day, Marjorie fondly shared stories about her past fishing adventures, like marking her initials on each of her lures and renting fishing boats daily on family trips. When Marjorie was asked about her favorite part of the day, she simply said, "All the people here to see me." Surrounded by loved ones and the great outdoors, Marjorie’s wish brought joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Days like this mean more living for patients like Marjorie. She got to spend the day living fully, savoring the people and moments that matter most to her. A big thank you to Fresh Coast Kitchen for donating the sandwiches Marjorie was so excited to enjoy with her family! As soon as we told them about this wish, they jumped in to help. Thank you for serving the community alongside us!
