Shoutout to Neima Abdulahi, M.S. for an inspiring moment at metro Atlanta's culture night! We're so proud of you for sharing your culture and sparking curiosity in the next generation. Keep shining! ?? #EBFAlumni #WeAreEBF
The magic of reading out loud ??? It was an honor to read ??????????'?? ???????????????? ?????? at a recent culture night event in metro Atlanta. A huge thank you to the school’s DEI committee for a heartwarming invitation and a wonderful experience! When I wrote ??????????'?? ???????????????? ??????, my biggest hope was simply to spark a little curiosity about African proverbs in young minds. I wanted to create a doorway that would introduce readers to the richness of Somali proverbs and the beautiful wisdom they hold ?????? It’s moments like these – when young minds embrace with the story – that make the creative process feel so incredibly worthwhile. Grateful for the opportunity to share my culture and hopefully, inspire the next generation along the way. Thankful for it all ????

Today we celebrate TIME's second annual The Closers list—25 Black leaders working tirelessly to close the economic and health gaps and create equity. At a moment when progress faces resistance and erasure, media has the power to be a public record of that resistance. Thank you to the brilliant editorial team at TIME for championing this vision, and to The Closers themselves who have boldly shared their stories and allowed their work to be seen in this context. That, in itself, is brave. Immense gratitude to our committed partners W.K. Kellogg Foundation and La June Montgomery Tabron for being true leaders in this space and making this possible. Please take the time to digest, share, and even support The Closers work. And know that this work is always happening. TIME https://lnkd.in/eT3K7NnC
