Businesses like Amazon, Apple, Dell Technologies, Google, Microsoft, and The Walt Disney Company were founded in garages. Emissionless Mobility was founded in a humble Chinatown NYC apartment with a leaky roof and spotty cell + WiFi coverage. Today we bid farewell to our original HQ - the apartment on Grand Street that I’ve called home for the past five years. The building was built in 1920. We can only hope for the same 100+ year legacy for Emissionless as we take some big steps forward into the future. What’s next for Emissionless Mobility? We’re going on tour!!! More on that to come soon….. New York - I love you. It’s not a goodbye it’s a see you later. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me over the past 10 years. #Onward #Upward #MovingForward #Startup #OutOfTheGarage #IntoTheWorld #EmissionlessOnTour #WhatsNext??? This is what a typical morning looks like at Emissionless Mobility. Interested in joining our team? Want to join me for a ride along? Want to check out our Grounded // General Motors Brightdrop, get a tour of Newlab, or geek out on electric mobility? Reach out! Have you ever wondered what it's like to be a truck driver in NYC? Join us as we travel through Brooklyn to Manhattan and back with an electric motorcycle for our friends at EMOTO Supply Co. // CAKE – ridecake.com. The day starts at our Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation hub, a secure, convenient location where drivers can access a fleet of 100% electric trucks (our Brightdrop Zevo 600s) and charging equipment. After completing a pre-trip check, our driver departs from the Navy Yard and heads to Cavalier Customs repair shop to pick up a bike from George Sukkarieh. After some geeking out on electric motos and carbon-free transportation, we load the motorbike and strap it down before making our way into Manhattan. We head over to Last Mile NYC's new shop on the west side where we unload and hand over the keys. Last Mile NYC has the coolest collection of personal electric vehicles (PEVs) - ranging from e-bikes and motos to Onewheel scooters and even an electric hydrofoil. On our way back to Brooklyn, we stopped by to see our friends Flipturn and give them a tour of the truck, then head back to Newlab at the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation to prepare for the next trip. This is what a typical morning looks like at Emissionless. On this day we stayed local, but we find ourselves traveling all over the northeast and midwest to support our wonderful customers. Where do you want to see us next? #SustainableLogistics #CleanTrucking #NYC #EVs #KeepOnTrucking

Nearing a year of running Yard Labs - the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation's piloting program - together with Matthew Harrison & Eden Stern-Rodriguez. Our work helps emerging tech companies accelerate their commercialization and de-risk their technologies, something we are very proud to support. Thank you to all our piloting companies and internal BNYDC staff that make this program what it has become. Especially happy to have expanded the program to now also support waterfront pilots, capitalizing on the Navy Yard's unique location in the middle of New York City. ?? Vycarb has installed a groundbreaking pilot at the Yard, capturing and storing carbon dioxide from the East River. ?? FOAM Inc utilizes the campus of the Navy Yard to pilot their GPS alternative?technology. ?? itselectric recently installed their Yard Labs pilot, utilizing their technology of drawing power directly from buildings for EV charging. ?? Pliant Energy Systems Inc are piloting their underwater, amphibious robot on the Navy Yard's waterfront. ?? Renovate Robotics runs a robotic roofing pilot, having installed a mock roof to pilot their roofing installation robot. ?? L?RO are days away from installing their water reuse system, which can be retrofitted below sinks, at the Yard. ?? Emissionless Mobility are running an electric freight pilot, working towards supply-chain decarbonization. Thank you to all our piloting companies, as well as our partners at Newlab, NYCEDC, Trust for Governors Island, Streetlife Ventures and beyond!

After an exciting event last Friday, LACI's Fall Power Day 2024 is officially in the books. Thank you to everyone who participated in our bi-annual showcase of innovation in action! We were grateful to host?#LADWP?CEO and Chief Engineer Janisse Qui?ones PE for a keynote address that set the tone for a great event, highlighting the importance of bold action and the need to "try faster, fail faster, and change faster" in the pursuit of our sustainability goals. Fall Power Day blends hard-hitting policy discussions that drive progress toward our clean energy targets outlined in our Clean Energy 2028 Roadmap with founder pitches from our brilliant startup founders: Moon Five Technologies, Stephan Ng | Eorte Brand, Joey Pham | Pure Energy Stream, Inc., Santiago Flores | BASEstud.io, Heidi Adams | @Ouros Industries fabricfeed, Jae Allen | Rechargify, Kyle Sullivan | Nice, Lauryn Morris | Reverse Energy Solutions Corp, Charles Hu | Emissionless Mobility, Max Yergan | Hamilton Perkins Collection [Techstars '24], Hamilton Perkins | ChargeWheel, H Muhammad | OOM Earth, Amy Lee Pitching to an amphitheater full of investors, industry leaders, and cleantech advocates is by no means an easy task, but the founders from our Incubation Cohort 8 rose to the occasion and delivered excellent presentations capturing the essence of innovation in Los Angeles. Thanks so much The Climate Scout and Angelica Dietzel for giving us the opportunity to discuss what we've been up to at Emissionless Mobility. We focused our discussion around Eddy - our freight mobility-as-a-service platform that we will be releasing later this year. Eddy is here to make trucking easier. Eddy exists to connect shippers and commercial EV asset owners (trucks + charging) to a network of drivers and small fleets. Eddy also powers our hub-to-hub freight relay system - our transformative approach to ground freight distribution that is designed to enable broadscale electrification of freight and help drivers get home to their families every night. Eddy is informed by our experiences operating our Emissionless Mobility fleet, and is what we wish existed when we got started on our electric freight journey. Excited to show you all what we have been working on soon. "Zero-Emission Commercial Vehicles: The Time Is Now" - BloombergNEF, Smart Freight Centre I couldn't have said it better myself. The commercial EV market is just getting started, but electric trucks are rapidly becoming economically competitive to equivalent gas and diesel vehicles - starting with shorter routes and lighter duty cycles. For certain operators (including Emissionless Mobility), there are even cost benefits to operating medium-duty EVs (Class 3 through Class 5), particularly in urban environments or regions with low electricity cost. Even heavy-duty (Class 6 through Class 8) long-haul trucks can achieve parity to diesel by 2030. Critical aspects of competitiveness for heavy-duty zero-emission trucks are the cost of fuel (electricity prices) and cost of storage (vehicle battery packs and long-duration batteries). Battery prices are falling by 15% - 20% annually in the United States on average. In 2023, prices outside of China fell 39% to $186 per kilowatt-hour. Still, that is 86% higher than commercial vehicle battery prices within China, which were only $100/kWh. If these trends continue, industry-average battery pack prices would hit about $80/kWh by 2030. My bold prediction: we will hit $80/kWh by 2028. Significant investment into battery production through BIL and IRA and falling solar panel prices will make electricity relatively abundant and affordable. Electric long-haul trucking will become cost competitive before 2030, partially dependent on grid constraints which can be mitigated by long-duration battery storage paired with renewable energy sources (solar, wind, hydro). Historically, experts have routinely underestimated the rate of adoption for EVs and other sustainable technologies. This instance will be no different. NYT: What Will We Do With Our Free Power?
