Having been on the #GlobalCleantech100 list an impressive seven times, Svante becomes the 18th?inductee into the Hall of Fame. ?? Cleantech Pioneer: Wal Van Lierop, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Chrysalix Venture Capital, received the Cleantech Pioneer award in recognition for his many years at the helm of one of the most respected global venture capital firms for cleantech and industrial innovation. I feel like it's been a minute since I've posted, but it's been a busy few weeks. Here's a recap of how I have been closing out 2024: ? Grabbed coffee with Edward Casabian from Climate Draft (and forgot to take a selfie!). If you're looking for #cleantech news and opportunities, I highly recommend subscribing to his newsletter. ?? Caught the train up to #dtla for the Larta Institute Venture Fellows event and got to chat with Ethan Greenberg who founded RotorVault to develop an ultra-low-CapEx flywheel technology for long-duration energy storage (#ldes). On my walk to the event, I spotted my first Waymo taxi at the corner of 5th and Hill St.! ?? Took a whirlwind trip through San Diego, attending the Cleantech San Diego 2025 Outlook where I connected with Toni Carlo from Emission Free Generators, Inc.. SoCalGas Research Development & Demonstration (RD&D) is supporting EFG the develop a #zeroemissions uninterruptible power supply for the residential market. It's fueled by cartridges filled with a solid-state #hydrogen storage medium. Very cool concept! ?? Then I had the chance to stop by Eversun to meet up with Austin Vawter. Eversun has developed a very cool, zero-emissions, portable light mast designed to replace all of those dirty, towable diesel generators you probably have seen at construction sites. ? I rounded out the day at Supercharged San Diego, an EV and Cleantech networking event where I reconnected with Russell Vare who is advancing #V2G systems at The Mobility House. Don't sleep on San Diego: there is a really thriving cleantech community down there! ?? Finally, back to the old stomping grounds for The Caltech Associates Holiday Research Seminar where Jean-Laurent Rosenthal shared his research into the tension between founders and investors as they battle for control over growing #startup venture. I'm looking forward to a little holiday break, but already seeing exciting events pop up in January! Happy Holidays!

Kudos to Procopio LaunchPad participant and clean-energy technology developer Emission Free Generators, Inc. (EFG) on securing key recognitions. First, it competed against an impressive array of candidates to secure a Caltech Rocket Fund grant, designed to help innovators turn their technologies into commercial realities through financial support, entrepreneurial mentoring and education. EFG has also been chosen by Southern California Gas (SoCalGas) to participate in its research development and demonstration program. We’re proud that EFG is one of four members of the 2024 cohort of Procopio’s LaunchPad startup incubator located at the law firm’s Del Mar Heights, California, office. Digital Fire Prevention, Inc., a digital end-to-end platform for fire safety with Director of Funding Marina Tringali. ?? ReJoule, an innovator in battery diagnostics helping to maximize battery life with Co-Founder Zora Chung. Among the LaunchPad offerings is office space in Procopio’s Del Mar Heights office and a selection of complimentary corporate and intellectual property legal services. The nine-month program also includes educational opportunities on key topics including valuation, funding, intellectual property strategy, employment issues, and pursuing a strong exit.
