May is American Stroke Month!  Stroke is the fifth-leading cause of death and a leading cause of serious, long-term disability in the U.S., despite stroke being largely preventable, treatable and beatable. Each year, approximately 800,000 people in the U.S. suffer a stroke. In observance of Stroke Month, the American Heart Association (AHA)/American Stroke Association (ASA) is providing tools and resources that hospitals and organizations can use to enhance patient education, staff activities, and public awareness. We encourage you to check out these tools and resources to share at your organizations and/or with patients and their families and loved ones. Following is a sampling of tools and resources that can be downloaded here https://lnkd.in/e_ybfwdp *printable 3-sided tabletop sign *a F.A.S.T. infographic *a stroke risk in women infographic *stroke word search *patient resource list *printable pictures for patient evaluation Additionally, throughout the month, the AHA is presenting free webinars that bring applicable stroke-focused learning to healthcare professionals. Visit the site for a listing of these educational webinars. We hope that these resources will make it easier than ever for your organization to participate in Stroke Month and continue educating staff, patients, and members of your communities. #strokemonth #beprepared #cprsaveslives
