We are honored to share a recent funding award, partnering with OneOhio Recovery Foundation to expand access to transportation for those seeking to rebuild their lives!! Thanks to OneOhio Recovery Foundation for investing in Recovery on Wheels. These resources will help us build a stronger, healthier community. Recovery on Wheels will offer transportation access to substance use treatment for up to 38 men residing at Emerge Springs Recovery Housing, located in Yellow Springs, as well as individuals seeking treatment outside this group. Residents in recovery housing will have transportation each morning and evening for a variety of services. Depending on what level of care someone is in at any given time, there will be routes to morning partial hospitalization groups and intensive outpatient programming. Additionally, some individuals may be in other standard outpatient groups such as aftercare or anger management. There are other services on the Emerge campus that transportation will be provided for as well, including The Trades Institute, an accredited trades school and GED certifications through the Miami Valley Career Technology Center. Anytime an individual wants to attend treatment or other services outside of Emerge, the transportation will be available. Lastly, other services are provided either on the Emerge campus or outside in the community. Some of these services or supports include support groups like Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Celebrate Recovery, church services, health appointments, Job and Family Services, and more. NEW PROGRAM UPDATE! Emerge is excited to share that we are starting faith-based programming on Monday, November 4th. Our desire is to provide a new path to recovery (complementing our established traditional 12-Step pathway) that is clinically-sound and integrates Christian faith and practices. In recognition of our DNA as a faith-based organization, we are driven to doing recovery different. We believe this will be a powerful way we will help rebuild lives and restore hope to those we serve. Led by Casey Steckling LSW, LCDCIII, he shares, “I am excited to be a part of something new that isn’t really being done anywhere else. This is a big reason why I came to work at Emerge: to use the transformational message of the Gospel to help people recover and live the abundant life Jesus talks about.” Please share our GOOD NEWS! #faith #hope #love #recovery: emergerecoverytrade.com Rachel Huffman Kenton Durham, SHRM-CP, CDCA, MFTT Alicia Cormier Philip DiYanni Terry F. Here is a story about the power of music. We had a sweet surprise ending to an already perfect evening last Friday! After the concert provided by the Levitt Pavilion Dayton ended, Joe Waters, winner of the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival offered some encouraging words for our residents, then asked if anyone wanted his guitar! He signed it, there were hugs, and he told the guys to share the power of music with each other. What a SPECIAL gift that is a great reminder for all of us. "Do small things with great love." Thank you again Lisa Wagner and Philip Hoffheimer for bringing joy and the healing power of music to Emerge! This is a night that many will never forget. #emergetogether #recovery #musicheals #recoveryispossible

We are honored to have The Ohio State University former football coach, Jim Tressel serve as our Honorary Event Chair this year on October 19th. Recently, Coach Tressel sat down with Emerge for an extended Q & A in which he discussed the nonprofit, why he supports it and how addiction has touched his life throughout the years as a coach and educator. Here is Part One of his interview. How did you first hear about Emerge? "One of our former players, Kirk Barton, told me about Emerge. I met with Kirk and Kip Morris and others in June 2023. He said you need to check this place out because of my background in education. We met down there, and I got to see the amazing things that are happening. Emerge truly is a unique place. Not only are you giving people the support services they need socially, but you’re also giving them opportunities in society to advance their lives and enhance their self-image. The spiritual component is essential as well. That gives them hope." What were your impressions after touring our campus last year? "The biggest thing going through my mind during that tour, and I was still the president of Youngstown State University at the time, was how I had been in constant conversations with businesses about their workforce needs leading up to this. What piqued my interest was how Emerge was trying to resolve these types of workforce needs. Additionally, Emerge is also giving people a #secondchance and giving people hope alongside the support services they need." Take a look at the many ways you can walk alongside someone in #recovery: emerge2024.givesmart.com While the October 19th event is currently a sell-out, we invite you to JOIN THE TICKET WAIT LIST if there are last minute cancellations.
