For National Apprenticeship Week, Dynalectric Oregon, an EMCOR company, spotlighted Gwen, a dedicated apprentice who is making an electrical career path for herself here at the company. “Right out of high school, I didn’t know if I wanted to do the college route or the trades route,” Gwen shared. She took a step into the industry as a material handler and quickly realized she’d found her calling. Gwen was accepted into the apprenticeship two and a half years ago, and has been diligently learning and growing since then. "I didn’t know anything about construction before this, so it was a learning curve," she said. As a part of National Apprenticeship Week, Dynalectric Arizona, an EMCOR company, is highlighting their apprentice Alex Juarez. When asked about his career choice, Alex stated that he saw potential in the growing electrical field. “I wanted to get a head start,” he shared, so he seized the opportunity and joined the apprenticeship.? ? One of the biggest lessons Alex has learned is that everyone is at a different level. “While you may feel like you're behind in some areas, you might have more knowledge in another area than other people.” Instead of worrying about where you think you should be, Alex advises new apprentices to focus on their own growth and development. “Just soak it all up,” he says. ?
