Not too long ago, it was revealed that the CEO of SHRM removed equity from their DEI framework—a decision that raises eyebrows for its timing and implications. Reportedly, this move aligns with positioning for a potential role as Labor Secretary, signaling a prioritization of personal ambition over the integrity of DEI principles. For those of us committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, this action feels like a step backward. Equity is not a buzzword; it's the foundation for creating systems that dismantle barriers and ensure fair opportunities for all. By removing equity from the framework, we dilute the purpose of DEI and risk reducing it to performative gestures rather than actionable change. #BeBest Johnny!
