???????? ?????? ??????????????: Carrie Shaw Our CEO and co-founder Carrie Shaw became a caregiver at the age of 19 when her mother was diagnosed with Early-Onset Alzheimer’s Disease. Faced with the challenge of conveying the specifics of her mother’s visual impairment to caregivers, she modified a pair of glasses to simulate the experience, and found that something as simple as a taped up pair of glasses proved to be a very powerful tool. Carrie understood the broader application that tools like this could have in helping bridge the gap between experience and understanding that exists between caretakers and those they serve. She saw virtual reality as another powerful tool that could cultivate understanding and empathy within those who care for people facing all types of conditions. Embodied Labs was founded to build that tool, and to redefine what it means to care for others. By understanding the experiences and challenges of those living with memory loss, we can foster greater empathy and improve their quality of life.? ? Embodied Labs is honored to be a part of the movement, creating virtual reality and immersive experiences that allow caregivers to walk in the shoes of individuals navigating this disease—allowing them to gain insights that go beyond words. Our very first lab, Beatriz, takes users through the daily life of an individual experiencing progressive Alzheimer’s, allowing a first hand look of the effects of the condition.? ?
