A heartfelt thank you to Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and the World Affairs Council of Miami for the warm welcome and good discussions on where we can deepen partnerships and exchange best-practices. It was a privilege to connect with Miami’s economic, academic and cultural leaders and be immersed in the dynamic and entrepreneurial spirit that unites #Miami and #Liechtenstein. Ambassador Georg Sparber participated in the Mark Samuelian Distinguished Speaker Series at Miami Dade College in partnership with the Miami-Dade County International Trade Consortium. It was a lively discussion on topics ranging from Liechtenstein’s position in the world to its economic footprint in the US and its leadership in high-end manufacturing and digital finance. Visiting PortMiami was a special treat, with a very good exchange on trade and Miami’s gateway function to the Americas. Many thanks to Eric Olafson and Stanley Rigaud and their team! We were honored to be hosted at an exclusive gathering at The Wolfsonian–FIU by Mitchell "Micky" Wolfson Jr. and to learn first-hand about his unique collection which also includes important documents on Liechtenstein’s history and identity from in between the two world wars. Importantly, the visit to Miami allowed us to dive into the immensely diverse and historically rich Miami culture and cuisine with a great evening in #LittleHavana and to showcase our country with Global Miami Magazine. Great to be back at Rutgers University so many years after Rutgers welcomed me for a year at the end of my studies. Impressive to see the success the university has had since. We are shocked and saddened by the terrible tragedy of the plane collision with a helicopter over the Potomac last night. Our hearts go out to the families of the victims. We are grateful to the many first responders working tirelessly in the difficult conditions.
