  • Every great team is built on trust, resilience and a shared vision. We recently hosted a team building session with a team that was in the midst of integrating a new leader. To ensure a smooth transition, the team prioritized creating space for honest conversations, clear expectations and alignment on vision and goals. As part of the team building session, team members worked together to tell their story in pictures—reflecting on where they’ve been, the challenges they’ve overcome, the lessons they’ve learned and the victories—big and small—that have shaped them. It was a great opportunity for reflection and open dialogue. But the journey doesn't end here. The road ahead is filled with new opportunities, fresh challenges and the chance to grow even stronger together. We’re excited to hear all that they accomplish as they keep pushing forward, supporting each other and turning their vision into reality.     Employees rely on praise and recognition to better understand their manager’s expectations and values. However, Gallup data find that only one in three employees globally strongly agree that in the last week they have received recognition or praise for doing good work. Gallup’s latest Q12 meta-analysis finds that by increasing that ratio to six in 10, organizations could realize a 15% reduction in shrinkage, a 38% reduction in patient safety incidents, a 32% improvement in employee wellbeing and a 5% improvement in customer engagement. Praise, recognition, acknowledgment, appreciation and feedback are tools that managers can use to communicate what is important and help an employee see their value.     Employees across America are feeling increasingly detached from their jobs, as job-seeking rates reach the highest levels since 2015 and overall satisfaction with employers hitting a record low in both 2022 and 2024. Yet, unlike “The Great Resignation” where markets saw turnover at record rates, many frustrated employees are struggling to make the leap to a new employer in a cooling job market and an economy marred by inflation. Instead, they are left feeling stuck with their discontent. Gallup refers to this shift as “The Great Detachment.” For employers, this means that while turnover numbers may have stabilized, employee productivity concerns and future talent loss are hidden organizational risks. In addition, when employees feel detached from their work, organizational changes are likely to meet indifference or resistance.
