"You can automate just about anything." For years, enterprise HR teams have had access to high-end tools like Paradox—because they could afford them. But what about mid-sized and smaller companies? That’s where things are changing. Trent Cotton, VP of Talent & Culture at HatchWorks AI, breaks down how tools like Make.com and Clay are leveling the playing field for lean HR and recruiting teams. The Chief People Officer's role is expanding, the market is contracting, and agility is no longer optional. If you’re in HR or recruiting, now is the time to build, automate, and scale—without waiting for a massive budget. #HRTech #Automation #FutureOfWork #TalentStrategy #TheLaborPool

By 2027, 89 million jobs will be affected by AI, and 91 million new ones will be created. Sounds like a net gain, right? Not so fast. Those 89 million displaced workers won’t automatically be qualified for the 91 million new roles. That’s a massive skill gap that HR leaders can’t afford to ignore. In this episode of The Labor Pool, Trent Cotton, VP of Talent & Culture at HatchWorks AI, breaks down what this shift means for HR, change management, and why HR can’t afford to be the last department to adapt. AI is transforming recruiting - but it’s not replacing recruiters. The latest guide from Terminal, "The Ultimate Guide to How AI is Transforming Hiring," highlights this key point - AI should empower recruiters, not replace them. Our founder, Nic Mahaney, was featured in the guide, sharing how he built Elly after interviewing 300+ recruiters to understand their biggest challenges. His takeaway? AI should handle the admin work, so recruiters can focus on what matters - hiring great people. ?? Saving Time: AI automates note-taking, scheduling, and candidate assessments. ?? Ensuring Fairness: AI-driven documentation improves consistency and reduces bias. ?? Enhancing Efficiency: AI allows recruiters to focus on human connections, not manual tasks. The future of hiring isn’t AI vs. humans - it’s AI + humans. Check out Terminal's guide to see how AI is reshaping recruiting: https://lnkd.in/dv792HeH And if you're ready to experience AI-powered recruiting firsthand, let's chat about Elly. ?? #AIRecruiting #HiringInnovation #FutureOfWork #RecruitingTech

Amazon's recent RTO mandate underscores the fact that we still don't have a settled balance between remote and in-person work in the labor market. Recent data from McKinsey reveals that the proportion of employees working mostly in-person (at least four days a week) surged to 68% in 2024, up from 34% in 2023. Despite this shift, employee preferences remain divided. Gallup reports that 55% of remote-capable employees favor hybrid work, 26% prefer full-time remote, and 19% want exclusively on-site roles. The takeaway? The future of work is still evolving. As Kyle Willis of BELAY states, companies are navigating operational needs, employee expectations, and workplace culture to find the right mix. What do you think the equilibrium will be? Are we headed toward a hybrid norm, or will one approach win out? Drop your thoughts below. ?? #TheLaborPool #FutureOfWork #RemoteWork #ReturnToOffice
