It's National Apprenticeship Week! This week celebrates the value of Registered Apprenticeships in building a skilled workforce, creating career pathways, and strengthening our economy. At the DU Family of Companies, we’re proud of our Fire Alarm System Technician (FAST) Apprenticeship Program. This 4-year, U.S. Department of Labor-registered program combines 8,000 hours of hands-on learning and instruction to train future Journeyperson Fire Alarm System Technicians, including skills in intrusion detection, security cameras, and access control systems. The program recently celebrated the graduation of its first four-year class of technicians, a testament to the power of apprenticeships to transform lives and industries. ?? Heroes Among Us ! ?? When you're part of the fire protection world, the job doesn’t end when you clock out. Just ask Jonathan Rosario, one of our incredible team members! On his way home, Jonathan witnessed a car accident—and without hesitation, he jumped into action when he saw one of the vehicles catch fire. Equipped with a fire extinguisher from his truck, he quickly put out the flames, helping prevent a bad situation from becoming worse. His quick thinking and readiness reflect the heart of our commitment to safety and preparedness. Thanks to training, education, and our Safety Days, Jonathan was able to act quickly and effectively—truly embodying the around-the-clock dedication of our fire protection family. We couldn’t be prouder to have someone like Jonathan on our team. And yes, he even called afterward to let us know he owed us an extinguisher! ???? Don't worry, Jonathan, this one's on us.
