Please meet our other intern, Alexis Perez! Alexis received her bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Montevallo and is currently working on her master’s in social work at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Right after graduating, she jumped right into the field, starting as a CAN social worker with DHR. Later, she transitioned to SafeHouse of Shelby County, where she worked with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. In addition to her impactful social work career, Alexis also runs her own business, specializing in cake decorating and event planning!

Fast forward 10 years, and our Christmas Shop has grown so much that we now fill our entire office with toys, wrapping paper, and a team of elves! It’s been an incredible decade of providing families with affordable gifts, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has made it possible. Please meet one of our newest intern, Liz Holcombe! Liz is currently pursuing her Master’s in Social Work at The University of Alabama and will graduate in May 2025. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Addiction and Recovery from the same university in 2020. Liz has an impressive background, having worked as an assistant counselor at Bradford Health Services and later as a program coordinator at Alsana: An Eating Recovery Center.
