??Happy??day! Does anyone remember 100 Day in elementary school?? Something about pennies and counting to 100 I think? Well Elite Staffing just processed our 100th invoice and it seemed fitting to celebrate!?? An interesting stat from these placements over the last 2.5 years: ?????????????????Remote: 35% ????????????????Hybrid: 55% ????????????????Onsite: 10% I find it encouraging that the majority are finding a version of hybrid work schedules, as opposed to 5 days onsite. It seems most people are appreciative of the flexibility and lifestyle that working remote allows, while recognizing the value of in-person engagement. ?Glad to see there is a way to make both work, as we know this helps with retention and competition in the hiring game as well!

? Tuesday Tip: When putting together an interview panel/process, consider which participants are "decision makers" and which are "feedback providers". It's fairly difficult to come to a unanimous decision when people from various verticals and departments are involved so making this distinction will allow the hiring manager to quantify the weight of each person's assessment of candidates. Pro tip: Don't include more than 5 people in an interview panel/process to begin with.
-
? Tuesday Tip: Question for hiring managers to ask yourself: What are you doing to attract candidates to want to join your team?? This can be in relation to your job description, interview process, offer negotiations, etc. Just because someone has agreed to interview, doesn't mean they're "sold" on the opportunity.

?Tuesday Tip: Q4 is typically a slower time of year for hiring.. budgets are coming to a close and next year's planning becomes the focus. HOWEVER, people are still around for introductory calls, coffee and lunch. Q4 is a great time to connect with old colleagues, friends and new contacts. It's never a waste of time to catch up or meet someone new. That way, when Q1 rolls around and hiring picks back up, you'll be top-of-mind! Consider scheduling a coffee meeting with 2 people a week between now and Thanksgiving.. you won't regret it!

? Tuesday Tip: Interview Question: Tell me about a time something didn't go as planned and how you handled it. ?Don't: Avoid the question by insisting nothing has ever gone wrong. Don't spend too much time dwelling on the issue or pointing fingers either. ?Do: Pick a relevant situation and be honest about your part in both the problem and the solution. No one is going to blame you for making a mistake; they're more focused on assessing your self-awareness and ability to come up with a successful remedy. It also makes you more relatable and might lead to the interviewer sharing a similar experience of their own!

? Tuesday Tip: Get out to a local networking event! You never know who you're going to meet and what might come of it. ?? Local SD Devs: Here's one we're sponsoring this month: https://lnkd.in/gMy3tmNr Good news: You don't have to be an expert Svelte Dev to attend.. maybe you're just curious to learn about a newer front end framework ?? or talk shop with other engineers! Thanks Attila Buturla for the opportunity to sponsor!
