He’s the best pup but, as anyone could guess with a husky in Florida, he sheds quite a bit, has to have his nails trimmed often, and loves to visit the dog park tracking in lots of dirt. So what’s the best type of flooring for dogs and pets living in multifamily? ? Vinyl Plank: water-resistant, scratch residentand affordable, giving the look of hardwood without the high cost. This is also a great option in case your pet has the occasional accident. ? Tile: while a higher price point you’ll find that ceramic and natural stone are able to handle the upkeep and durable needs of pets while also staying easy to clean. ? Carpet: while less durable, carpet is great to help with noise and can be easy to clean depending on the material you use (poly vs nylon). You can also apply deodorizer when a resident moves out to get multiple turns. Common areas like elevators and enclosed corridors I’d recommend a glue down carpet tile or thicker vinyl plank (12-20mil).
