The?2024 Western Grouping NAIA Beach Volleyball Qualifying Tournament?concluded in a thrilling showdown at the CVEATC last week, with Corban University coming out on top! Among the participating universities were Southern Oregon University, The College of Idaho, Westcliff University, Park University, Benedictine University, Bushnell University, University of St. Katherine, and the champions Corban University. These teams brought their A-game to the sand, each vying for a coveted spot in the NAIA National Invitational. From March 16th to March 24th, 2024, the University of Washington Men’s Rowing Team underwent an intensive spring training camp at the CVEATC, marking their fifth visit since 2018. The significance of their return was amplified by the recent cinematic portrayal of their program in “The Boys in the Boat,” a Hollywood film that immortalized their legacy and celebrated their remarkable achievements in the 1936 Summer Olympic Games. CVEATC is excited to announce the return of the?Gonzaga University women’s rowing team?to its campus. Thirty-four athletes, accompanied by three staff members, will participate in Gonzaga’s spring training camp from March 9-14, where they will face off against The University of Minnesota Women's Rowing Team to begin the 2024 spring season. From February 20th to February 29th, the CVEATC played host to the U.S. Soccer Federation Under-16 Women’s Youth National Team, marking the team’s first training camp of the year. This camp, led by head coach Patchy Toledo, brought together 24 promising players born in 2008, all gearing up for the upcoming 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. In their quest for Olympic glory, Team GB Archery recently embarked on a crucial training camp at the CVEATC. From February 5th to February 16th, a group comprising 15 athletes and staff members immersed themselves in intensive preparation here in Chula Vista. As they bid to etch their names in Olympic history, the Great Britain Archery Team’s time at CVEATC served as a pivotal chapter in their journey, equipping them with the tools and confidence needed to excel in Paris. From February 10th to February 15th, 2024, the CVEATC hosted the Puerto Rico Women’s National Soccer Team for an intensive training camp in preparation for the inaugural 2024 Women’s Gold Cup. The camp, attended by 34 athletes and staff members, provided “The Boricuas” with top-tier facilities and resources to refine their skills and build team cohesion. In the lead-up to the historic inaugural 2024 Women’s Gold Cup, the Dominican Republic Women’s National Soccer Team embarked on a transformative training camp here at the CVEATC for the very first time! From February 8th to February 15th, 2024, “The Quisqueyanas,” as they are affectionately known, immersed themselves in a week-long regimen aimed at elevating their performance on the international stage. NWSL side Washington Spirit recently chose the CVEATC for their preseason preparations ahead of their 12th season. A total of 59 athletes and staff members participated in the training camp, which took place January 26 - February 8, 2024.
