Inspiring lifelong learning in craft and creativity for all
关于我们
The Eliot School inspires lifelong learning in crafts and creativity for all. It sends artisans and artists into classrooms throughout Boston, teaching young people in schools and community centers. It also offers classes for all ages in its Jamaica Plain schoolhouse and annex. These classes, in woodworking and furniture, sewing and fashion, fiber arts, book arts, painting, drawing, photography and mixed media, reach people of all ages and all walks of life. A teen program, annual Artist in Residence program, occasional talks, exhibitions, and other events round out the program. Founded as a grammar school in 1676, the Eliot School turned its focus in the late 19th century to the manual arts. It is known for its excellent faculty, welcoming atmosphere, extensive youth programming, and small class size.
