Our Ajax Lines crews were performing maintenance work on SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)-operated switches with fault-sensing technology – infrastructure that helps detect and isolate outages faster. SCADA is a system that allows our System Control Centre operators to monitor and control the grid in real time while providing field crews with necessary data to diagnose and respond to outages right then and there.? This week, we had the opportunity to take Ontario Tech students to the Elexicon Energy Inc. office! Students toured the facilities, learned about the organization’s operations, and made valuable connections. They also had the chance to hear from Ontario Tech Co-op students, alumni, and staff working at Elexicon. A special shout-out to Women for STEM students Brionna Joseph and Erin Hannah, who shared their insights on what it’s like to work for Elexicon.
