At the same time, we make it easier for organizations to access an under-utilized pool of promising talent. We do this by identifying and creating opportunities with hosting partners to support valuable, paid internship experiences that make a meaningful, measurable difference for participating students, getting them to even — and beyond.

In my advancing age, I appreciate the professional friendships I’ve acquired more deeply and can drop the “professional” adjective from so many of them. Some are pals you see only every couple of years, or if you’re lucky more often, but picking up with them is so easy and natural it’s like you talk to them every day. What a great development for Elevate+ alum Neema David. She is incredibly hard working and so deserving of Wheels to Work.
Last week we did a Wheels to Work Cleveland transfer for Neema David. This car was donated by Brad and Katelyn Milius who went the extra mile to get the vehicle in great shape for Neema who arrived from the DRC 8 years ago. Neema previously received a Wheels to Work donation this spring but unfortunately the car broke down soon after and she rejoined our waiting list. Previously, Neema participated in our Corner65 program and now 4 of her siblings are C65 kids! Neema is a full time student at CSU maintaining a 4.0 gpa and working full time as a home health care aide. This car is a life changing gift that will allow Neema to get to work, class and help out her family.
