  • Today's Toolbox Talk Tuesday topic is.... Does safety really take extra time? There are many complaints someone may bring up about workplace safety. One major complaint or excuse for not following safety policies or procedures is time( Time is equated to money.) Some safe work practices will take some extra time to implement. On the other hand, many do not take much time at all. Regardless of the time spent to put these safeguards into place or follow a certain safe work practice, they were created for a reason and are meant to be followed for a reason. What's the cost of a workplace incident? ? Lost production time. ? Productive time lost by an injured employee. ? Productive time lost by employees and supervisors helping the accident victim. ? Cleanup and startup of operations interrupted by an accident. ? Time to hire or train a worker to replace the injured worker until they return to work. ? Property damage. Time and cost for repair or replacement of damaged equipment, materials, or other property In conclusion, safety does NOT take up time, in fact it actually helps. Safety should never ever be sacrificed. #ElevatedStaffingSupport #ElevateWithUs #ToolboxTalk

  • Today's Toolbox Talk Tuesday topic is.... Dealing with an injury! Each Worker has a job to perform and when they are injured, on or off the job, it can impact both safety and efficiency of the workplace they are a part of. It is important to never make an injury worse by coming into work or performing a task that could cause reinjury or a new injury. How to prevent: ?? Immediately alert a supervisor or safety representative of an injury that has occurred. ?? Do whatever first aid or medical treatment that is necessary to initially treat the injury. ?? Go to the Doctor if needed. ?? Let your employer know about the injury that occurred off the job so accommodations can be made until you are back to full health. ?? Follow the Doctor’s orders and follow up. ?? Take it easy even when the injury begins to feel better. In conclusion, don't ever push your self past your limitations. When an injury occurs, don't ever be afraid to speak up. Not speaking up can result in your injury worsening and possibly remaining injured for life. Let's become safer together! #ElevatedStaffingSupport ##ElevateWithUs #ToolBoxTalk

  • Today's Toolbox Talk Tuesday topic is... Back Injuries! Back Injuries are common in construction and day to day activities in life. Because there are many potential causes of back pain, it can be hard to show that your pain comes solely from an accident. How can we prevent back injuries? ?? Individuals should focus on stretching and using proper lifting techniques over using a back belt to keep them safe. ?? Break down larger or heavier objects into smaller loads that pose a hazard while handing to make it a safer and smaller load when possible. ?? Use equipment such as forklifts, dollies, heavy equipment, etc are the best ways to eliminate handling and lifting objects by hand. ?? Install proper shelving and setup storage areas that keep objects in optimal range. In conclusion, don't do something that isn't safe. Your back plays a huge part in your everyday activities. If something isn't safe, don't do it and tell someone. #ElevatedStaffingSupport #ElevateWithUs #ToolBoxTalkTuesday

  • Today's Toolbox Talk Tuesday topic is.... The Little Things!! How many times have we overlooked the little things? How many times do we put the “bigger” things above the little? That’s why today’s topic is on the little things. How can we prevent missing the little things? ? Make a check list of things that need to be done, that way you can see not only the bigger things, but the smaller things as well. ? Count your inventory and see if you need to get anything else for the week. ? Be in communication with others. ? Paying attention to details. ? Listen when someone is talking to you and make sure to go over the details with them so you don’t forget. The little things ARE important. That’s why it is so important that we are making sure we don’t overlook them. #ElevateWithUs #ElevatedStaffingSupport #ToolBoxTalkTuesday #ToolBoxTalk
