Course Spotlight: Rope Access Supervisor Jan 25-27, 2025 in Orlando, FL This course is geared towards Rope Access Supervisor (SPRAT and IRATA 3 or equivalent). This class looks to bridge the gap between attaining your level 3 certificate and going on to lead a rope access team. Day 1 will be at our new training facility in Orlando. Some of the topics for the day will include: ? Leadership lessons from the military, fire service, and industrial world ? Rigging physics ? Rescue planning and hazard mitigation ? On-site communications ? Artificial high-directional ? Accident/incident reviews Day 2 will be spent on real-world structures. We will put the skills learned on Day 1 into practical use. Each student will be expected to be a team leader in multiple scenarios. Day 3 will again focus on real-world structures. This day will build on Days 1 and 2, explore more difficult scenarios, and deal with some worst-case scenario access and rescue situations. NIPSTA held their first 40 Hour Public Works Academy.?This Academy was developed with the assistance of the NIPSTA Public Works Committee, the Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency (IRMA) Public Works Steering Committee, Elevated Safety, Titan Risk Management, IRMA Staff and NIPSTA Staff. ?Based on the feedback from the 15 students, the Academy successfully met the objective of providing a basic foundation of relevant courses for new Public Works employees. This basic foundation was laid through the excellent instruction that was provided throughout the week by Elevated Safety, Titan Risk Management (Bill Crimmins) and NIPSTA Center for Disaster and Emergency Medicine Instructors. NIPSTA also appreciates the nine Public Works Departments who sent their employees to this Academy and these employees for their participation and feedback.?NIPSTA will be scheduling three academy classes in 2025...registration opening soon.

Everyone passed with flying colors last week in our Colorado SPRAT rope access class! Two of our local instructors, Brian C and Brian M, were part of this course and successfully re-certified their Level 3 status. We make sure to keep our staff up to date and current so we can offer the best training possible for our students.
