As a key player on the football, wrestling, lacrosse, and weightlifting teams, he brings dedication and grit to every goal he sets. Joining ELEVATE Orlando has only fueled his passion for growth; his favorite part of the program is the chance to connect with Teacher/Mentors beyond the classroom. Eager to become a better communicator, Derlan is gearing up for a bright future—whether that’s designing the latest tech as a computer engineer or taking on the NFL!

I want to extend a huge thank you to Elevate Orlando for inviting me to be a guest speaker at the Academic Center for Excellence and Memorial Middle School. It was a privilege to share my current career journey and future plans with such an engaged group of students who asked insightful and thoughtful questions. Their enthusiasm was truly inspiring! I’m excited to continue working with these bright students during my time as a Ginsburg Scholar and look forward to supporting them in any way I can.

It was an incredible day at the Nemours 2024 Child Health Equity Symposium, presented by the Ginsburg Institute. Hundreds of business leaders, healthcare professionals, and community advocates gathered to discuss and strategize ways to uplift our community's youth and promote their health and wellness. A special shoutout to BGCCF President & CEO Jamie Merrill and Club ambassador Annabell for participating in a panel alongside Eddy Moratin, President of Lift Orlando, Jonas Cayo, President & CEO of Elevate Orlando, and a youth from Elevate. The discussion served as a powerful reminder of the vital role we all play in paving a better future. Congratulations are also in order for our BGCCF dancers from the Walt Disney World Clubhouse, who wowed the audience with their remarkable step performance.
