The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced the opening of three new federally funded EV charging stations, built using funds from the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program. ? “These federally funded chargers represent a core component in the future of EV transportation – and we’re using federal funds efficiently to create jobs and improve our transportation system,” said PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll. ? The new stations are located at the following locations: - Flying J Travel Center, New Milford, Susquehanna County (A partnership between EC Business Council members EVgo, General Motors, and PennDOT) - Chambersburg Square shopping center along Walker Road, Franklin County - Sheetz along I-81, Exit 44, Carlisle, Cumberland County ? These new stations will help expand EV access across Pennsylvania, supporting drivers while also creating jobs and boosting the local economy. With more charging sites on the way, Pennsylvania continues to build an electrified, more connected transportation future. Read more: https://lnkd.in/g47kfsvt

Curious about the impacts of the GSA shutting down existing EV chargers? This E&E News article demonstrates that this move could cost taxpayers up to $1 billion. The EC has long identified EVs as a great fleet solution because they often have defined daily routes and return to a central location, where they can be charged overnight. Our analyses have demonstrated that EVs lead to significant savings for the federal fleet. Incorporating American-made EVs powered by a diverse, domestic grid into the federal fleet is critical to supporting U.S. economic and national security. https://lnkd.in/gk4Vw7Yh Interested in electrifying your organization’s fleet?
