Energizing day at the California Energy Commission's EPIC Symposium! ? ?? I enjoyed participating in today's panel on Accelerating MD/HD Transportation Electrification, moderated by Assemblywoman Lori D Wilson, where I discussed the portfolio vs. one-size-fits-all approaches that fleets are taking towards electrifying depots as well as the emissions and infrastructure cost benefits of integrated battery storage for ratepayers (CA is well on its way with 13 GW installed as of Sept). EPIC funding (#CalSEED and #CECRAMP) has been an important catalyst for de-risking first-of-a-kind (FOAK) innovations like ElectricFish's and it was eye-opening to see how diverse stakeholders from municipalities to tribes like Blue Lake Rancheria have leveraged the funding to bring affordability, reliability, and efficiency to the clean energy transition for everyday Californians. And of course, always great to catch up with good friends and fellow CEC awardees Bill B. and Tanya Barham too!
