As our Occupational Medicine Physician, you'll ensure high standards in patient care, collaborate with various departments, and oversee medical budgets and goals. This role requires strong leadership and knowledge in occupational health, safety, and regulatory compliance. Qualifications: -Medical Licenses in RI & CT -Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Public Health, or related field -2+ years of Occupational Medicine experience preferred -DOT & BAT certification (preferred, or willing to obtain) -Ability to obtain a Department of Defense “Secret” Clearance Work in a dynamic, hands-on environment with a focus on the health and safety of our workforce. General Dynamics Electric Boat the Boat Next Gen Nights 2 and 3 at Westerly Education Center. Last week Westbrook High School students learned Sheet Metal fabrication skills while they created cell phone holders on Night 2 and learned electrical skills on Night 3. Night 2 included using the break, shear, pneumatic drill press, deburring tools, scribes, rivet guns, and reading a blue print. Night 3 included cutting, stripping, and joining wire to create an electric circuit to power a small motor. Students used wire strippers, crimpers, junction boxes, wire nuts, barrel connectors, and multimeters. Students are having a blast and becoming more familiar with skills needed for the building of our nation's Virginia and Columbia class submarines. #youthworkforcedevelopment

Last week was a busy week at Westbrook High School. We started The Boat Next Gen with General Dynamics Electric Boat. High school students explore six trades during this three week program. Not only are students exposed to industry core trades (pipefitting, electrical, sheet metal, welding, machining and shipfitting), they also have hands-on skill development. On Oct. 30, Westbrook students spent three hours working learning about pipefitting from instructors at the Westerly Education Center in Westerly, Rhode Island--that was after a one-hour bus ride from Westbrook! #youthworkforcedevelopment #careerreadiness #SubmarineIndustrialBase

General Dynamics Electric Boat had the pleasure of hosting Madelaine McTernan, UK Chief of Defense Nuclear, at our #GrotonCT shipyard for a tour and status updates on the #ColumbiaClass submarine program. Madelaine was joined by the Royal Navy’s Vice Admiral Sir Chris Gardner, CEO of the Submarine Delivery Agency; Commodore Elton Sharkey, Director of Nuclear Propulsion; and Captain Ralph Coffey. US Navy’s Vice Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral James Kilby, and Director of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, Admiral William Houston, were also in attendance, reinforcing the strengths and relationship of US/UK programs.

In partnership with Build Submarines, Electric Boat is proud to be a lead sponsor for WaterFire Salute to Veterans on Saturday, November 2nd???? The lighting will begin just before 6 PM and end at 10 PM. WaterFire will be celebrating the 12th annual Salute to Veterans torch procession. This ceremony will honor Rhode Island’s Veterans and active-duty military personnel from all service branches. Over 100 Veterans holding torches will process into the Waterplace Park Basin and create a Ring of Fire during the lighting of the WaterFire Braziers. A speaking program is scheduled for the Basin Stage at 4:30 PM. David Roberts, a veteran and the VP of Real Estate and Facilities at Electric Boat, will be among those sharing remarks. Guests are invited to visit the Washington Street Bridge from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM for a Veterans Resource Fair.
