This July, Electric Boat’s Workforce Development Team joined forces with UCONN/URI??Anchor Program students to support the National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) in Boulder, Colorado?? Throughout the week long event, over 200 scouts worked together in teams of 2-4 to build SeaPerch R.O.V’s (Remote Operated Vehicles) which they tested in small pools. Students gained familiarity with and utilized design and engineering tools such as PVC cutters, soldering irons, drills and electrical wire???The scouts also learned about the Navy’s critical need to grow the workforce of the Submarine Industrial Base over the next several years.
