The Early Learning Coalition of Broward County, Inc.'s vision that all children in Broward County will enter kindergarten socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively and behaviorally ready to learn and families will have comprehensive early care and education services readily available to them in order to be stable and strong. The Coalition’s role is to develop and administer a comprehensive school readiness program that prepares children to succeed in school and in life, as described in the Local School Readiness Coalition Plan as approved by the Office of Early Learning. This in an ongoing process that involves building on existing services, working in cooperation with other programs for young children and coordinating and integrating program funding and services to achieve efficiency, accountability and full effectiveness. The Coalition receives the majority of its funding directly from Florida's Office of Early Learning. Some funds are then awarded to community organizations and service providers to perform customer services. The Coalition touches the lives of thousands of Broward County children and families. While funding does not cover all of the identified unmet needs, we are constantly looking for innovative, additional funding sources. The Coalition strives to use all of its resources in the most effective and efficient manner possible.

Dear ELC Broward Parents, The Early Learning Coalition of Broward County is pleased to inform you that the Division of Early Learning (DEL) has upgraded the Early Learning Family Portal with enhanced security features and mobile-friendly functionality to enhance your user experience and ensure a safe and secure experience for all users. Please NOTE that the Family Portal system will be unavailable starting Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 5 PM. We expect it to be back up on Monday, March 24, 2025. Rest assured; your childcare services will not be negatively impacted during this outage. We will keep you informed once the portal is accessible again and provide any updates if there are additional delays. Once the portal re-opens on Monday March 24, 2025, as part of this upgrade, it will be necessary for all parents to re-Sign-Up in the system. We understand that this may cause some inconvenience, but it is a crucial step in safeguarding your information. Please follow these steps to register: 1. September 1, 2025 is the birthday cutoff date for children applying for the 2025-2026 Program Year. ? VPK is free during the 540 total instructional hours during the school-year and 300 total instructional hours during the summer. ? The VPK instructional hours per day may vary provider to provider. ? If a family chooses to remain at a provider for more than the VPK instructional hours provided then there will be a charge. ?
