Beginning with our annual Global Day of Purpose at the beginning of October, teams around the world have been participating in volunteer efforts to give back to their local community. Only then can we respectfully challenge them to take a small step forward; and repeat,” Amber Maynard, Senior Director of Global Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA), said during her speech at the National ERG Leadership Conference. Amber - a leading IDEA expert - predicts the foremost IDEA conversations critical to workplace culture are introversion/extroversion, neurodiversity, empowering the next generation and cross-cultural leadership. The impact of recent natural disasters is devastating. Our hearts are with everyone, including our own team members, their families and their pets, who have been impacted by the recent storms. Pets are part of our families and as part of the recovery efforts, we've partnered with Greater Good Charities to get pet health products to those displaced by the recent hurricanes in the Southeastern United States. While there are many obvious threats associated with these horrific disasters, there are several invisible threats to our furry companions that sadly become more commonplace when these severe weather conditions hit. Here’s what pet owners should be on the lookout for – ?? Flooding or standing water hold visible threats - such as sharp objects and dangerous materials which pose a hazard to pets' paws and people. ?? Standing water becomes a breeding ground for invisible threats - which puts dogs at greater risk of heartworm from the increased number of mosquitos and internal parasites if they drink the water or lick their paws. ??Hurricanes and other wet weather events can increase threats from parasites. This can potentially lead to zoonotic diseases that can transfer from pets to owners. Keeping you and your family safe is the top priority. As ongoing recovery efforts continue, take one worry off your mind –ensure your pet remains on a broad spectrum parasiticide and talk to your veterinarian with any other questions to protect your furry family members from invisible threats. #WeAreElanco

We’re celebrating spooky season with a parasite’s worst nightmare. More than 500 volunteers from the local team are spending the day at the Indianapolis Zoo with Rise Against Hunger packing 100,000 meals- making this the largest meal packing event in Indiana. When it comes to battling allergic dermatitis, little Trooper certainly earned his name. Trooper, a year-old Yorkshire Terrier, suffered from allergic dermatitis and was experiencing year-around itching that was impacting his quality of life and keeping him from normal puppy play.
