El Puente does just that through inspiring youth leadership and change in the marginalized communities we serve in North Brooklyn and Puerto Rico. We’re excited to share this new report by Center for an Urban Future and Brooklyn Org that showcases El Puente’s idea for achieving a stronger and more equitable Brooklyn. “Create community-based digital equity hubs to provide access and training” - Marco A. Carrion, Executive Director, El Puente Despite everything that makes Brooklyn great, systemic inequalities in Brooklyn still persist and disproportionately exclude low-income residents from accessing crucial internet and technology resources, especially impacting students during the pandemic. To bridge this digital divide, we should establish community-operated digital hubs and offer digital courses to empower residents with access, ownership, and confidence in utilizing these essential tools.
