关于我们
An acclaimed and growing multidisciplinary practice founded in 1996 and devoted to the pursuit of design excellence, El Dorado has been hailed for our “continued commitment to the integration of art, architecture, and fabrication that has made it endlessly interesting to follow.” Our pledge is to chase big ideas in the middle of everywhere, leading to our growth with a new Portland, Oregon office and new commissions around the United States where design innovation is a key goal. Merging architecture, urban design, curatorial, education and fabrication capabilities, we’ve brought our success stories from Kansas City and the Midwest to cities and communities around the world. Today, we work purposefully across scales, locations, and contexts, from city blocks to exhibitions, between critical ideas and our intangible, spiritual attachment to place. El Dorado’s partners and talented staff – including architects, urban designers, university professors, industrial designers and certified welders — are committed to chasing big ideas with a common touch and a belief in advancing design for the common good.

WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE! This spring, a giant transparent column will rise from the ground outside the Georgetown Wet Weather Treatment Station (GWWTS) in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood, turning rain into a theater. Sans fa?on’s Monument to Rain—created with El Dorado and scheduled for completion this summer—will glow like a beacon and change with the weather: When it’s raining, it will stand empty, illuminating the rain around it. When it’s not, drops will begin to fall inside the column, with the same quality and intensity as the most?recent rainfall. Monument to Rain is the latest of many public art projects incorporated into our region’s water infrastructure through 4Culture’s partnerships with King County, WA’s Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) and Water and Land Resource Division (WLRD), both of which are critical protectors of public health and the environment. Whether permanent or temporary, these projects not only highlight the beauty of water—they reveal ways in which it moves through land, waterways, and the atmosphere, drawing attention to the impact humans have on the water cycle. Ramadan Kareem from the freshly unveiled — and a personal favorite from Riyadh’s anticipated giga-projects — Phase 1 of Sports Boulevard. Encompassing footbridges, shaded public realm, segregated multi-modal lanes, and a plethora of active facilities; Riyadh’s residents will be spoiled for choice, while staying active during the holy month. “The 2024 Residential Architect Design Awards (RADA), featuring jurors Rene Gonzalez, principal and founder of Rene Gonzalez Architects in Miami; Ashley Heeren, principal at Low Design Office in Austin, Texas; and Roselie Enriquez Ledda, principal at Paulett Taggart Architects in San Francisco, evaluated a robust field of more than 200 submissions to identify the forefront of housing innovation. With meticulous attention to scale, purpose, and sustainability, the panel recognized 20 exceptional projects. This elite group comprises 10 honor award winners, five merit award winners, and five recipients of citations, exemplifying the pinnacle of residential architecture's ability to enhance lives, communities, and the environment.” Congratulations to Lone Oaks Farm, UT Extension: Agriculture and UT Institute of Agriculture for your Honor Award in Specialized Housing for the new Sunset Cabins. And to the design and construction teams for executing this so elegantly. “There were a lot of projects that did similar things to this, but there were not a lot of projects that did it with the clarity that this does. And it's quite beautiful. It’s a very rich project with a very controlled set of moves.” —Juror Rene Gonzalez See the complete story of the cabins in the link below. Thanks to ARCHITECT Magazine and this year’s stellar jury of peers!
