This mixed-use development with 87 affordable housing units, the José Martí Child Development Center, Church of Hope, and Consejo offices is a tribute to the legacy of Roberto Maestas and his visionary partners Larry Gossett, Bob Santos, and Bernie Whitebear. Construction Update: Southwest corner of project, Scaffolding up to allow for tile installation at SW exterior fa?ade, Finishing up at SW corner, Paver installation in progress at courtyard, Play equipment in place, Interior work in progress at building interior spaces, Bike racks installed in main bike room, Temporary overhead door at courtyard installed, Tilework in progress, nearing completion. Join us at El Centro de la Raza for our Annual Día de los Muertos celebration on Saturday, November 2nd, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Plaza Roberto Maestas, 1660 S. Roberto Maestas Festival St, Seattle, WA 98144. Día de los Muertos is a time to honor and remember the lives of those who have passed. This year’s theme is: “Voting for Resilience: Honoring Voices Lost, Empowering Voices Present / Voto por la resiliencia: honrando voces perdidas y empoderando voces del presente.” We will pay tribute to the organizers targeted and killed for their civil rights work, victims of vigilantes attempting to halt movements, and individuals whose sacrifices brought new awareness to struggles.
