Members of our nursing team were in New Orleans last week for the ANCC Magnet and Pathways Conference. Nearly 14,000 RNs were on hand for the largest nursing conference in the world. El Camino Health nurses presented two posters and a podium presentation sharing our best practices with other nurses. Team members were decked out in Sailor outfits for Halloween to align with El Camino Health ‘Sailing’ Towards Magnet Mastery and our 5th straight designation this year.

As breast cancer rates continue to rise among women under 40, experts say early detection is key. October 29th is World Stroke Day. In the U.S., more than 795,000 people have a stroke each year. Today is an opportunity to bring attention to the high rates of stroke and raise awareness of the prevention and treatment of the condition. For 15 consecutive years, El Camino Health has been recognized by the American Heart Association with the Get With The Guidelines – Stroke Gold Plus Award. We were also proud to partner with Champion The Challenges for their recent Golf 4 Life event. This foundation is focused on inspiring stroke survivors, therapists, family and friends to champion the challenges of life after a stroke.
