Odisha Government and nasscom collaborate to shape the IT Policy for the digital future of Odisha. The Electronics and Information Technology (E&IT) Department, Government of Odisha recently convened a joint discussion session with NASSCOM and key stakeholders from Odisha's IT industry on 14th February 2025. The focus of the session was to gather invaluable feedback and suggestions on the state's upcoming IT Policy. Hon'ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Electronics and IT, and Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, emphasized on the government's commitment to supporting the rapidly growing IT sector.?Key initiatives include dedicated Centers of Excellence (CoEs) for R&D and a collaborative CoE with industry leaders and academics to guide IT initiatives. Shri Vishal Dev, Principal Secretary, E&IT Department, highlighted the policy's objective to build a competitive and comprehensive framework, encompassing IT infrastructure, skill development, sustainability, and R&D, to strengthen Odisha's position in the digital economy. The session featured a detailed presentation on the draft policy, followed by an interactive Q&A, encouraging open dialogue and valuable feedback from industry representatives. The E&IT Department exchanged MoUs with nasscom, Wadhwani Foundation, and Semiconductor Fabless Accelerator Lab (SFAL), Bengaluru. These MoUs will facilitate the Government of Odisha’s efforts to establish an AI Centre of Excellence, provide trainings to government officials in emerging technologies, and ensure successful implementation of the Government’s flagship O-Chip program respectively.
