Commissioner Eira L. Corral Sepúlveda is the first Latina elected to the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) Board of Commissioners. She is also the youngest and first Commissioner in recent history to come from the Northwest suburbs of Cook County. Commissioner Corral Sepúlveda was inaugurated in 2020 and is serving her first term. Commissioner Corral Sepúlveda is a “hometown proud” elected official of Hanover Park and a strong advocate for local community engagement and representation. With 12 years of experience in public service and municipal government, she has registered thousands of new voters and promoted civic engagement at the local, state and national levels. Commissioner Corral Sepúlveda was inaugurated in 2020 and is currently serving her first term.

This weekend is filled with St Patrick's Day fun! First, join us downtown on Saturday at 10am for the traditional dyeing of the Chicago River and the 70th Anniversary of the Downtown Chicago Parade.. Then, on Sunday, head to Beverly for the South Side Irish Parade at 103rd & Western. Both parades are long-standing local traditions and we're excited to participate!

I'm so excited for the Chicago St Patrick's Day Parade this Saturday - how about you? For 70 years, the Chicago Journeymen Plumbers Local 130 have taken on the traditional task of dyeing the river green and organizing the parade itself. For this, I'd like to take a moment ahead of the weekend's festivities to say a big thank you to James Coyne and his union brothers for their hard work.
