Our members (Indiana's 12 Workforce Development Boards) are honored to administer JAG Indiana at a regional level. JAG is a proven workforce preparation program for at-risk Hoosier students that has a great success rate and provides real employment opportunities. Since its inception in 2006, JAG Indiana has served over 50,000 Hoosier students and now has 250 programs in middle schools, high schools, and college campuses throughout the state. Indiana WDBs leverage a variety of state, federal, and philanthropic resources to make this program successful. In 2024, JAG Indiana students had a 96.6% graduation rate. 55.2% were placed directly in jobs post graduation and 38.8% enrolled in post-secondary education (and earned over $20.4M in scholarships!). Today, we had the opportunity to visit Union County High School and help organize a career fair for students in grades 6th-12th! This event allowed the kids to explore various career paths and engage directly with employers. A huge thank you to Union County High School for hosting, and to all the employers for dedicating their time to participate!

Thank you to everyone who attended or spoke at our Statehouse Day on Thursday. We were pleased to meet with Governor Braun and hear from Secretary of Commerce David Adams and House Education Chairman Bob Behning! Thank you to the office of Senator Jim Banks for your participation. Most of all, thank you to the JAG students, youth apprentices, and employers who spoke about the importance of the public workforce system in Indiana. Today, we hosted our Regional JAG CDC competition at the East Central Educational Service Center! Students from seven JAG schools—Blackford High School, Knightstown High School, Muncie Central High School, New Castle High School, Richmond High School, Shenandoah High School, and Wapahani High School—participated in 11 career development events. Congratulations to all the award winners, and best of luck to those advancing to the State CDC! A huge thank you to the East Central Educational Service Center for hosting us and to our event judges for contributing to the success of the day!

??Congrats to our December JAG Indiana Specialist of the Month, the one-and-only Mikala Linstrum! ?? Mikala, the JAG Specialist at?Shenandoah High School, has made an incredible impact in her first year. Her manager describes her as a "rockstar who inspires her students daily with her organization, classroom management, and ability to build strong relationships. Mikala is firm, fair, and consistent, holding high standards for her program and participants." Mikala is also a former Eastern Hancock High School JAG student and State of Indiana Governor's Summer Intern with JAG Indiana! We're proud of you, Mikala!
