In 2015, we joined iconic brands like Patagonia and Ben & Jerry’s to become part of B Lab's global network of businesses working toward systemic change. And in 2024, we were recertified for the fourth time, making 2025 our tenth consecutive year as a B Corp. We’re proud to share that our latest score increased by 20 points to 109 — an all-time high. What contributed to the increase? Because we believe in the well-being of workers and their communities, in 2023 we supported our top two suppliers to become Fair Trade Certified?, improving our social performance in the B Lab Impact Assessment. We increased the amount of wool fibers certified to the Responsible Wool Standard, which means better land and animal stewardship. We also chose EcoVero? viscose fibers because they require less water and less energy than conventional fibers. All these changes together contributed to an even stronger environmental performance, resulting in our highest score yet. You can learn more about what it means to be a B Corp here:

Why is collaboration critical for tackling challenges of nature loss and climate change? We spoke to Lisa Williams, CEO of EILEEN FISHER, INC. for her take on these questions and more—including lessons from EILEEN FISHER on circularity and what’s next with The Fashion Pact. ?? Why is industry collaboration important when it comes to solving challenges of nature loss & climate change??? LW: The key to addressing fashion’s most pressing challenges lies in working together. Collective engagement with brands, retailers, suppliers, government, and partners like TFP drives real impact and moves the needle. The challenges of a changing climate and biodiversity loss are greater than any one person or company. By collaborating we learn from one another and achieve impact quicker, leading to stronger advocacy for environmental policies and the creation of long-term, more resilient outcomes. It’s our combined commitment that will ultimately create the scale that’s missing today. ?? What are you looking forward to working on as part of TFP/which challenges are top of mind? LW: I’m looking forward to learning from and contributing to this diverse, talented, committed global network of CEOs – the collective brainpower involved is exciting. The challenges we face transcend borders – things like reducing textile waste, shifting from linear to circular and regenerative business models, tackling overproduction and overconsumption, decarbonizing the supply chain... are issues I’m eager to dive into with this group of like-minded leaders.? ?? EILEEN FISHER has helped lead the way on circularity. What are some lessons you’ve/the team has learned in the process? LW: So many lessons over the last 4 decades in business; the learning never stops. A key aspect we always talk about is how making clothes better matters but so does making better clothes. Designing timeless, simple pieces that can be worn for as long as possible, from materials that can be recycled to extend the lifecycle even longer. To reduce our impact, we must make thoughtful choices about what we put out into the world and why.?? Circularity is only possible with high quality, long-lasting products that can be passed down through generations. We’ve been taking back our clothes since 2009, about a decade before second-hand shopping went mainstream. What started as a passion project to give our clothes multiple lives has been echoed by our customers who send back their clothes. Our take-back program (Renew) is an example of our company living by our values and inviting customers to participate in a positive, impactful cycle with a brand. Once our clothes can’t be resold or worn again, we’re working to be sure they can be remade. The Recycled Wool Cashmere Funnel Neck Top we recently came out with is made from old EF sweaters that our customers returned to us. Investing in the textile-to-textile industry is crucial for our sector; it's an area that’s being built as we do this work.

Thank you, Fast Company and Elizabeth Segran, Ph.D., for sharing the story behind this special sweater and giving us a glimpse into what a fully circular fashion industry could be.
